SEMH Teacher

Salary:£150-£248 per day PAYE (depending on experience and responsibilities)

• Plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons tailored to pupils’ individual needs and abilities.
• Support pupils with SEMH needs, including emotional regulation, engagement and behavioural challenges.
• Create a safe, structured and supportive classroom environment.
• Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage participation, confidence and progress.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of learning needs and abilities.
• Promote positive behaviour, resilience, independence and social development.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams and other professionals.
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to individual learning and development plans.
• Follow school policies, safeguarding procedures and behaviour management strategies.

• Qualified Teachers with UK QTS are preferred.
• Experience teaching pupils with SEMH needs, additional learning needs or challenging behaviour is advantageous.
• Subject specialisms in Maths, English or vocational subjects are particularly desirable.
• Strong classroom management and the ability to establish clear, consistent boundaries.
• A calm, patient and adaptable approach to supporting pupils who may struggle to engage with learning.
• A commitment to inclusive education and helping every pupil achieve their potential.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education.
• Proof of the right to work in the UK.
