Teacher Active is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in South Bristol that supports students aged 11 to 16 with complex additional needs. The school provides a structured, nurturing and therapeutic environment where consistency, positive behaviour support and personalised learning help students build confidence, independence and emotional resilience.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis from October 2026, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will provide 1:1 support for students with SEMH and ADHD, using creative and engaging approaches to promote learning, manage challenging behaviour positively and encourage independence throughout the school day.

• Ideally, experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour or similar additional needs
• Ideally, experience working within SEND schools, Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), Alternative Provision, youth work or similar settings
• Experience supporting students with SEMH or ADHD on a 1:1 basis would be desirable, although transferable experience will also be considered
• A creative, patient and resilient approach with excellent communication skills
• Ideally, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, although this is not essential
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
