Technical Services Manager

Location: Bristol - Office-based but will require some attendance to site UK

Department: Technical Services - Roofing Division

Salary - £50,000 - £70,000 basic Dependant on Experience

We are looking for an experienced Technical Services professional to join our growing roofing division, with a specialist focus on metal roofing products and systems for commercial and industrial buildings.

This role sits within the Technical Services team and plays a key part in supporting customers, contractors, and the sales team throughout the full project lifecycle - from initial enquiry through to completion and quality assurance.

You'll be responsible for producing bespoke technical solutions, ensuring compliance with building regulations, providing on-site technical support, and delivering training to both internal teams and external partners.

• Providing day-to-day technical support for metal roofing systems and products
• Producing and approving bespoke specifications, thermal calculations, and technical drawings
• Supporting the sales team during initial enquiries and customer meetings with technical expertise
• Visiting construction sites during planning, installation, and post-completion stages to provide guidance and quality checks
• Managing and supporting projects from inception to completion, liaising with third-party suppliers and service providers
• Maintaining technical resources including drawings, datasheets, certification, BIM content, and specifications
• Delivering technical and installation training to sales teams and contractors
• Liaising with Marketing to provide technical input for publications and promotional materials
• Staying up to date with changes to regulations and codes of practice and reporting these internally
• Creating CAD drawings to support as-built packages and O&M manuals

• Strong organisational and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Confident presentation and training delivery skills
• Solid technical understanding of metal roofing systems, particularly standing seam systems
• Good working knowledge of building regulations and construction/design principles
• Understanding of CDM 2015, including designer and principal designer responsibilities
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Comfortable working under pressure and supporting a demanding sales environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD

• No specific qualifications required
• A degree in a construction-related discipline is desirable

• Experience in a construction-related role (e.g. project management, design, or site supervision)
• Experience delivering design and project packages in formal presentations or group settings
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with other design professionals
• Experience working directly with installing contractors to resolve technical issues
• Experience surveying construction sites and reporting findings

• Ability to climb ladders and safely use access equipment on site
