Fault finding and maintaining mechanical assets including steam boilers, pumps, gearboxes, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics, compressed air systems, etc. Working in line with maintenance techniques and best practices To ensure compliance with the pressure regulations and lifting gear inspection requirements Assisting in plant developments and projects Supervising and setting to work on site contractors Maintaining accurate maintenance records on the site Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Assist in outage planning, scheduling and coordination Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:
Ideally have an NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline such as Mechanical Engineering A health and safety qualification such as an IOSH will be highly advantageous Personal Skills, Prior Experience and Knowledge The Mechanical Technician role would suit someone who has:
Hands on maintenance experience with mechanical systems including, boilers, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, cranes etc Practical knowledge of process plant and equipment gained in a heavy engineering environment such as power generation, petrochemical, steel works, CHP plant, paper mill etc. Royal/Merchant Navy Marine Engineers will also be considered for this opportunity Salary and benefits of the Mechanical Technician role A salary of £49,129 Up to 10% Bonus Overtime Private healthcare Call out payments Other benefits LI-AP1 INDPOW Astute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
