Hatched Talent is proud to be the talent partner for a growing engineering business seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team. Why this role?

This is more than just a technical position. You’ll be working closely with the Senior Project Engineer (who will act as your mentor), alongside project managers, operations, and sales teams, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. It’s a role that blends hands‑on technical design, cross‑department collaboration, and project leadership.

What you’ll be doing

• Carrying out site visits to assess requirements, liaising with sales and customer project teams
• Producing drawings, calculations, risk assessments, manuals, and key documentation
• Leading and supporting project meetings and reviews, deputising for the Senior Project Manager where needed
• Managing project documentation, progress reports, and safety compliance
• Specifying and understanding plant and equipment requirements
• Working closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure smooth delivery
• Providing technical advice during site surveys and supporting health & safety investigations
• Ensuring projects are completed within scope, budget, and timescales

What we’re looking for

• Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or warehousing environments
• Strong technical mindset with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly
• Proven ability to work autonomously while building strong relationships across teams
• Solid understanding of industry standards, safe systems of work, and risk management
• High attention to detail, excellent organisation, and strong written/verbal communication skills
• Willingness to travel (UK and abroad) and flexibility with working hours when projects demand

What’s on offer

• Salary £35,000 – £45,000 (dependent on experience)
• Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm
