Our client is a well-established, multidisciplinary building services consultancy known for delivering high-quality, sustainable design solutions across the built environment.
They are now looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team, based in Bristol (preferred) or Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative, technically strong MEP team delivering complex, design-led projects across a broad range of sectors.
The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the technical delivery of mechanical building services design, working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will be involved across the full project lifecycle, providing high-quality engineering solutions while supporting consistent service delivery and repeat client work.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering detailed, coordinated and cost-effective mechanical design solutions
* Producing specifications, calculations, technical reports, and supporting documentation
* Designing mechanical systems using industry-standard software and tools
* Taking ownership of technical delivery on individual projects or work packages
* Attending design team meetings, client meetings, and site inspections
* Managing multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision
* Contributing to continuous improvement, innovation, and technical development within the team
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in mechanical building services design within a consultancy environment
* Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC
* Experience working within multidisciplinary design teams
* Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with clients and project teams
* Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
* Familiarity with relevant British Standards and regulations
* Consultancy background preferred
* A collaborative, thoughtful approach with a willingness to learn and contribute
