We are seeking a highly skilled Welding Engineer to join our multidisciplinary production team. The role provides welding engineering leadership and technical support across structural fabrication, pressure vessels for human occupancy, and WAAM processes. You will be responsible for developing, qualifying, and optimising welding procedures, ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory standards, and supporting continuous improvement of production capabilities.
This role involves close collaboration with design, production, quality, and R&I teams to deliver high‑integrity components that meet stringent customer and certification requirements (e.g. ASME, DNV, API, ISO).
Key Responsibilities Welding & WAAM Process Development- Develop, test, qualify, and optimise welding and WAAM procedures for ferrous and non‑ferrous materials
- Design and refine welding parameters for different materials, geometries, and production methods, including automated and robotic welding systems
- Lead welding procedure qualification activities to support current and future production requirements
- Provide expert guidance on welding processes, materials, and techniques
- Support fabrication of structural components and pressure vessels, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and project requirements
- Troubleshoot welding and WAAM‑related issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions
- Monitor weld quality through inspections and testing (visual, dimensional, and NDT such as MPI and DPI)
- Identify defects, investigate root causes, and report findings to internal stakeholders
- Assist in the preparation of welding repair procedures in compliance with industry standards
- Support internal and external audits related to welding and additive manufacturing activities
- Prepare, review, and maintain welding documentation, including WPS, WPQR/PQR, welder qualifications, and technical records
- Ensure welding documentation is clear, compliant, and effectively communicated to manufacturing and quality teams
