Position: Quantity Surveyor (Permanent)
Quantity Surveyor - Infrastructure / Utilities

Location:

Bristol Office Based | Projects across Somerset & Devon

Offer:

£48,000 - £55,000 + £5,000 Travel Allowance + Excellent Benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading infrastructure contractor delivering a major framework for South West Water.

This role offers a strong mix of office and site based work, alongside the opportunity to progress onto a flagship major project later in the year.

The Role
The Quantity Surveyor will be based from the Bristol office, supporting the delivery of low-value, high-volume schemes across the framework and local to Bristol. These works form a vital part of maintaining and upgrading essential water infrastructure across the region and will provide excellent exposure to fast-paced project delivery. The work will include water mains renewal schemes, developer service connections and minor infrastructure upgrades across the clients assets in the area.

As the programme progresses, you will transition onto a major capital project involving the installation of a large-diameter cross-country pipeline linking multiple wastewater treatment facilities as far south as Exeter and require travel to sites 2-3 days per week.

This role would particularly suit someone based in Somerset, providing convenient access to both Bristol and the South West project locations.

Key Responsibilities

Managing the full commercial lifecycle of projects from tender through to final account
Administering and managing NEC contracts
Cost forecasting, reporting and financial control
Procurement and subcontractor management
Managing change control and compensation events
Supporting operational delivery teams to drive commercial performance
Building strong working relationships with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders
About You

Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, utilities or civil engineering projects
Sound knowledge and practical experience working with the NEC suite of contracts
Ability to manage multiple work streams and adapt to a high-volume project environment
Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving capability
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required
What's On Offer

Salary: £48,000 - £55,000
£5,000 Travel Allowance
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
Healthcare package
Contributory pension scheme
Clear career progression into major project delivery
Long-term secured workload within a major framework
Supportive team environment with strong emphasis on work-life balance
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their experience across both reactive and major infrastructure projects within a stable and growing utilities framework.
