Principal Civil Engineer - Infrastructure

Your new roleAs our new Infrastructure Principal Engineer you’ll be responsible for leading on Civil Engineering / Infrastructure design for projects led by the Infrastructure team or projects led by other departments where Ramboll’s offering is multi-disciplinary. You will also have a direct connection with the wider Infrastructure Teams based across the UK. Infrastructure projects could include Sustainable drainage (SuDS), surface water & foul water drainage, utilities, earthworks & highways.
Key Responsibilities- Leading the design and development of civil and infrastructure engineering inputs for a mix of project types including local authority, residential, commercial and industrial developments
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate designs with other project components
- Providing technical advice, line management and mentoring to team members to support project delivery and professional development
- Financial management of projects including fee forecasting, fee preparation, and allocation
- Planning and managing work activities to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
- Engaging with stakeholders and clients throughout the design process to achieve required certifications and approvals.
- Apply and promote policies relating to health and safety (including CDM Regulations), quality assurance, and training
- Establishing relationships with individuals from other organisations, generating market intelligence and new business opportunities.
- Preparation of discipline specific bid documentation including pricing.
- Championing and advocating Ramboll Global Strategy ‘Partner for Sustainable Change’
- Technical knowledge in civil engineering including SuDS, Surface and Foul Water drainage and earthworks design and proficient in relevant standards
- Experience in delivering projects to all RIBA Stages
- Experience in delivering sustainable solutions within the infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated ability to lead single or multi-disciplinary projects
- Strong written and communication skills, with experience in preparing technical documents and reports
- Able to gain Baseline Personal Security Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC)
- Degree in Civil Engineering (desirable)
- Professional accreditation as a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or equivalent (desirable)
