Job DescriptionAECOM is looking for an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to join our Southampton office. As a Senior Surveyor, you will lead and manage building surveying, technical adviser, project management, and contract administration commitments for public and private clients. You will also mentor graduate surveyors and support business development.
Responsibilities- Lead on individual Building Surveying, Technical Adviser, Project Management, and Contract Administration commissions.
- Prepare specifications, AutoCAD drawings, and design work.
- Write surveys and reports for core Building Surveying services.
- Perform construction monitoring, NEC supervision, or Clerk of Works duties.
- Maintain compliance with all Project Delivery and Quality Assurance procedures.
- Manage financial, commercial, and risk aspects of fee‑based activities from inception to completion, individually or within a multi‑disciplinary team.
- Drive activities to develop business with existing clients and to win new work.
- Assist in preparing fee bids and support colleagues in business development.
- Mentor Graduate Building Surveyors within the National Building Surveying team.
- Chartered Building Surveyor (RICS or MIOB) with at least 3 years post‑qualification experience or equivalent.
- Extensive experience across all core Building Surveying areas, especially condition surveys, feasibility reports, design, and contract administration/project management.
- Experience working in multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with professional colleagues and clients.
- Previous management of sub‑consultants and contractors.
- Strong knowledge of JCT contract administration.
- Willingness to travel for short periods to support work delivery.
