Reporting to the Director of Silicon Architecture, the SoC Architects are responsible for the design, specification, modelling and integration of sub-systems within complex, high performance and highly integrated silicon devices at the forefront of AI acceleration technology.
The role involvesclosecollaboration with other groups, including architecture,silicon design,verification,hardware and softwareteams.
The TeamThe Silicon Architecture Teamsits within theCOOgroup.
The SoC architectsareresponsible forthe architectural specification,integration,modelling,validation and evaluationofnumerouscriticalsub-systems,including high-speed interfacesforourupcoming
AI acceleration platforms.
- Distillingproductrequirementsand their effects on SoC/platform design trade-offs
- Collaboratingwithprocessor, SoC and systemarchitectsto determine optimal solutions
- Collaborating with silicon design,verification,and hardwareengineersto ensureimplementationcorrectness
- Evaluating potentialhard and softthird-party
IPand liaising withthird party IP vendors - Design and specification ofperformant
SoC sub-system sand their associated integrations - Contribute to the silicon bring-up,characterisationand evaluation activities as required
- Silicon Architecture Team representation within cross-functional working groups
- Implement discussed infrastructure and processesimprovementsagreed with team
- Assist with debugging activities
- Degree in Electronic Engineering,Computer Scienceor related subject
- Solid understanding of computer/So Carchitecture
- Experienced in the writing of technical specifications
- Knowledge of RTL development and verification processes
- Be highly motivated, aself-starter, and a team player
- Ability to work across teams and programming languages
- Experience in thetechnicalspecification ofsilicon
SoC devices - Experience of machine learning ormassively parallel computing systems
- Low-level software experience, embedded C
- Knowledge of one or more of DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, on-chip networks
