Overview

Launch Management System Design Authority role ensures technical development, certification sign‑off, and in‑service support for LMS on Sea Ceptor and Land Ceptor programmes.

Salary: £49,000 - £57,000. Hybrid working: 3‑4 days per week on‑site.

Security clearance:
British Citizen or dual UK national with British citizenship. BPSS checks required.

• Ensure technical development of LMS including design, validation and acceptance into the Weapon System capability.
• Oversee certification sign‑off and in‑service support for LMS on Sea Ceptor and Land Ceptor.
• Manage technical risks and opportunities in line with product development requirements.
• Engage with system design, software engineering, electronics and mechanical engineering, in‑service reliability and support, safety, cybersecurity and other disciplines.
• Collaborate with Product Design stakeholders to evolve hardware and software design.
• Validate test procedures required to verify products and gather evidence to enable certification.

• Experience in design leadership for a complex electronics subsystem.
• Strong understanding of Systems engineering principles, processes and practices.
• Ability to manage technical risks and opportunities in line with product development requirements.
• Requirements engineering at System, Subsystem or Component level.
• Broad knowledge of the design and build of hardware and software for computer‑based electronics equipment.
• Ability to validate test procedures and gather evidence for certification.
• Excellent relationship building and communication skills with Product Design stakeholders.
