Role Overview

Simulation, Modelling and Control Engineers are required within an Advanced Aerospace, Marine and Defence Services Organisation. The role involves working on technical projects and shaping complex engineering work packages. Engineers will produce vehicle and system level models representing mathematical and control algorithms.

Required tools include MATLAB, Simulink, Python and associated toolboxes, with a good understanding of version control software (e.g. GIT) and task management tools. Industrial engineering experience or knowledge of modelling for the development and analysis of complex systems is expected.

Flexible working may be available with a hybrid working model for part of the week.

Responsibilities
  • Develop models and run simulation analyses for a variety of reasons, including support of equipment and system design activities, validation and derivation of system and equipment requirements, development of system control and monitoring algorithms, root cause analysis.
  • Prepare technical reports, from Model Description Documents to Analysis Reports.
  • Represent the company to customers, contribute to technical proposals, lead technical modelling packages of work up to technical signatory and beyond.
  • Collaborate with technical leads and principle engineers to learn best practices and contribute ideas to improve methods and efficiencies.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a related discipline, preferably Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or Mathematics, with a good understanding of fundamental modelling principles.
  • Confidentiality, a flexible, can-do approach, professional attitude, self-motivated and strong team working ethos.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Python, version control (GIT) and task management tools.
Security Clearance and Nationality

Security clearance required. UK nationals only for this role due to the nature of systems involved.
