About the opportunity

The Defence Industry Solutions Sector is a growing sector and to meet this we are looking to recruit for Safety Case Engineers with extensive experience in the development of safety justification for nuclear infrastructure to join our Defence & Security business. Candidates with similar safety case experience within high hazard industries and, or significant nuclear defence industry experience will be considered, where this compliments the existing team.

This role will ideally be based close to our Theale or Bristol office in a hybrid working role, and there will be a need for periodic visits to client sites as projects require. The Defence & Security business provides an exciting mixture of consultancy, design and engineering support, along with delivery of challenging Defence projects, to major clients in the UK at a variety of sites across the nuclear and defence industries, including HMNB Clyde, HMNB Devonport, BAES Barrow and AWE Aldermaston.

Overseas, we are delivering similarly interesting and exciting projects across the globe including projects for clients in the Middle East and Australia.

  • Ensuring technical quality and excellence of your work
  • Regular communication with clients and other design team members and participation in Design Reviews, HAZOPs, HAZCONs, SHERAs and stakeholder meetings
  • Contributing to the development of designs for complex facilities, systems and equipment
  • Adherence and contribution to business and quality management systems
  • Operational and design safety, and developing good safety culture
