Job Overview
Airbus Operations Limited is seeking an Industrial Composite Technology Specialist at Filton, Bristol. Full‑time position requiring UK SC security clearance (or BPSS and Export Control checks). 60% office based, frequent travel across Europe and internationally. 35‑hour week with flexible core hours, hybrid working and Friday afternoons off.

- Bridge gap between research and factory floor; mature new composite technologies for high‑rate production.
- Define and execute industrial manufacturing strategy for next‑generation wing parts for future Airbus programs.
- Lead technical link between Airbus and external experts; direct work of Tier 1 suppliers, PhD researchers and academic institutions.
- Build physical prototypes and demonstrators proving manufacturing methods are reliable, defect‑free and industrially viable.
- Scout emerging global trends and deploy digital solutions to create long‑term composite strategy.
- A degree in Engineering or an equivalent high‑level technical qualification.
- Expert knowledge of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer materials and industrial fabrication processes.
- Proven technical ability to design composite parts ensuring defect‑free deposition and forming during high‑rate production.
- In‑depth understanding of industrial tooling design, lifecycle and specialised tooling supply chain.
- Mandatory experience leading technical projects maturing R&T technologies and delivering physical demonstrators/prototypes.
