• Focus on the fire safety design of buildings.
• Work with colleagues within Hoare Lea as part of a multidisciplinary team and with long‑term external clients.
• Understand UK regulations and design guidance.
• Integrate other construction professionals’ requirements into design.
• Ensure open communication among all project team members, providing feedback efficiently.
• Attend design team meetings, design workshops, client meetings and site meetings.
• Travel to clients or projects in the UK and occasionally internationally.
• Apply software analysis tools—evacuation, smoke and fire modelling, heat radiation models and structural fire modelling.

• Experience working within a fire engineering consultancy role.
• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Building Services, Maths, Architecture, or Physics, with a keen interest in Fire Engineering, and good technical knowledge in fire safety design.
• IT literacy with a working understanding of fire modelling software analysis tools.
• Excellent communication skills and a desire to work in a team environment.
• Ability and commitment to deliver effectively to demanding timescales, with good organisational and planning skills.
