Commissioning Engineer; Mechanical & Fuel Route

About the Opportunity

Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical & Fuel Route) supporting the Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C, and other projects in the UK. The role will evolve, combining technical expertise with project management skills, focusing on commissioning lifecycle activities and analysis of commissioning results. Working with designers, contractors, and operational teams to develop commissioning documents and ensure safe entry into commercial operation.

• Responsible for the full commissioning lifecycle of multiple Radioactive Waste Systems at HPC.
• Accountable to a Commissioning Manager in the NNB HPC Project team.
• Develop commissioning documentation related to testing and system validation.
• Contribute to design reviews to ensure plant items and systems facilitate commissioning.
• Plan commissioning activities and own commissioning test program.
• Supervise contractor commissioning personnel during site commissioning.
• Assist Commissioning Manager and Senior Commissioning Manager in meeting project-level objectives.
• Analyze commissioning results and report outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with nuclear, environmental, and industrial safety regulatory requirements.

• Degree-qualified ideally in an engineering discipline; HNC or equivalent essential.
• Technical background in industrial, power generation, or process engineering.
• Knowledge of Mechanical Systems;
  Nuclear Fuel Handling Equipment knowledge desirable.
• Experience in commissioning, maintenance and/or operations of Nuclear Island systems.
