About the RoleDo you want to be a part of a growing Infrastructure Design team? Can you collaborate on projects? Are you a Chartered Engineer experienced in drainage design? You will work across a portfolio of projects throughout the UK, typically in rail, highways and water, and support projects across different sectors and globally.
Responsibilities- Managing and coordinating delivery of your work to time and budget, ensuring a high standard of technical quality and compliance with our internal management systems across the entire project lifecycle from feasibility to detailed design, including site supervision where required.
- Production of drainage designs, assessments and checking others’ work, including preparation or checking of models, calculations, written reports, specifications and other contract deliverables.
- Ensuring that design, assessments and checking of designs are in accordance with the current Standards, Codes of Practice and Best Practice.
- Developing and mentoring less experienced engineers and technicians within your project teams.
- Assisting with the preparation of bids and tenders and supporting the Directors in pursuing business development opportunities.
- Achieved Chartered Engineer (C.Eng) status with experience working on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Strong analytical ability and a solid understanding of current design standards and the latest drainage design tools and software.
- Experience of undertaking or specifying drainage surveys.
- Experience of catchment analysis, hydraulic design, pumping station design and legislative requirements.
- Demonstrable experience in railway, highway or water sectors. Ideally both working for the Client or in a Design & Build environment.
- Good team leadership skills with the ability to support, mentor and develop less experienced engineers.
- A sound understanding and experience in the application of the CDM Regulations and risk assessment process, including knowledge of current standards and legislation, including application of the Common Safety Method.
