Up to £57,000, depending on experience

Role Overview

The verification and validation lead for the physical domain will coordinate the overall physical functionality, performance, and constraints of the Dragon Fire system with the weapons system team, ensuring consistency with system requirements and project commitments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce physical design compliance statements and configuration management artefacts for system level review.
  • Lead design change impact assessment and manage Design Verification Plan and requirements within Application Lifecycle Management.
  • Log, track, and resolve defects identified during V&V activities and collaborate with development teams.
  • Coordinate work packages for internal and external suppliers, developing certification strategies for the physical domain.
  • Lead technical progress meetings and milestone reviews with suppliers.
  • Manage schedule, cost, quality, and performance metrics for assigned work packages.
  • Work within a multi‑discipline engineering team (systems, mechanical, electrical, software).
  • Mitigate technical risks through appropriate strategies.
  • Reconcile design changes, generating verification and validation strategies.
  • Support uplift of regulatory documentation (e.g., CE marking) and technical publications.
  • Respond to customer queries regarding product usage, compliance, and certification.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles, processes and practices.
  • Familiarity with requirements engineering at system, subsystem or component level.
  • Experience in hardware design and build.
  • Understanding of test procedures for product verification and evidence gathering for certification.
  • Strong presentation skills, promoting decision making.
  • Proficiency in technical report writing and use of configuration management tools.
  • Experience working in a multi‑discipline engineering environment.
