Shape the Future of Defence EngineeringAt Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Senior Structures Engineer at our Babcock Technology Centre or Devonport Royal Dockyard site.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Structures Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of supporting the Royal Navy Submarine Fleet through innovative structural design and engineering solutions. You will lead the development of section capabilities within the Structures team while providing technical support across the wider business. Additionally, you will:
- Direct technical outputs and coordinate multidisciplinary activities.
- Perform structural assessments using hand calculations and finite element analysis.
- Design for explosive shock survivability and manage structural defects.
- Drive capability upgrades and support future platform projects.
- Proven experience in structural analysis and design.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational ability to deliver in complex environments.
- Collaborative approach with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Degree in a STEM discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (or ability to demonstrate required competencies) with full membership of a relevant engineering institute.
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
