• Support the management of project risk through interdisciplinary design reviews and resolution of technical findings
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior engineers
• Ability to take ownership of complex geotechnical challenges from concept through to delivery
• Lead the production and delivery of geotechnical analyses, calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports
• Lead soil‑structure interaction analysis for a range of infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on bridge foundations, substructures and retaining walls
• Review and approve technical outputs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and COWI best practice
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, particularly bridge and structural engineers, to deliver integrated design solutions
• Ensure adherence to COWI’s Integrated Management System for quality, health & safety, and environmental performance
• Contribute to resolving complex geotechnical challenges across a range of projects

On top of that, you’ll have:

• MSc or MEng in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
• Strong experience in geotechnical design within a consultancy environment
• Proficiency in geotechnical software such as Geo Studio (Slope/W, Seep/W) and/or PLAXIS
• Demonstrated ability to interpret ground investigation data and apply current standards and best practice
• Experience leading design elements and supporting junior staff development
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to produce clear, high‑quality technical reports
• Full UK driving licence
