Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are looking for an experienced Analog IC Design Engineer to support the development of a high-performance Transimpedance Amplifier (TIA) for photodiode sensor applications. This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative engineering team working on advanced sensing technologies, delivering a low-noise, high-bandwidth analog front-end for precision signal acquisition.

Working closely with multidisciplinary hardware and IC design teams, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing TIA circuits that convert extremely small photodiode currents into accurate voltage signals while ensuring exceptional stability, sensitivity, and seamless integration with the wider readout electronics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop low-noise, high-bandwidth transimpedance amplifiers for photodiode sensor interfaces.
  • Optimise analog front-end performance for sensitivity, dynamic range, bandwidth, and stability.
  • Perform detailed noise analysis and implement techniques to minimise input-referred noise.
  • Carry out circuit simulation, verification, and performance analysis across operating conditions.
  • Collaborate with mixed-signal, system, and hardware engineers to integrate the analog front-end into the overall readout architecture.
  • Support design reviews, testing, and technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Proven experience in analog IC design with a strong focus on Transimpedance Amplifier (TIA) development.
  • Experience designing interfaces for photodiodes or other low-current sensor applications.
  • Strong understanding of low-noise circuit design, amplifier stability, and bandwidth optimisation.
  • Expertise in analog simulation and verification tools.
  • Solid knowledge of noise analysis and analog front-end architectures.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative engineering team.
  • Up to 5-month contract
  • Up to £65 per hour
  • Hybrid working with a Bristol-based office
  • Immediate or short-notice start preferred

This contract offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge analog and sensor technologies within a highly skilled engineering environment. If you have a strong background in TIA and analog IC design and are available for your next contract assignment, we'd love to hear from you.

For more information about this role please apply, or email Toby Woods on  who will be able to provide more details on the opportunity.
