Our work spans the energy, renewables, nuclear, net‑zero, water, rail, transportation, and aviation sectors. We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to support town planning and consenting on major and nationally significant infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities- Manage or lead aspects of town planning or consenting inputs on major infrastructure projects (DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs etc).
- Provide technical advice to clients and manage their consenting requirements, demonstrating awareness of client expectations and needs.
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of consent applications under the Town and Country Planning Acts, the Planning Act 2008, or other applicable regimes.
- Support negotiations with statutory bodies and stakeholders on behalf of clients.
- Lead engagement with multidisciplinary teams, providing technical oversight.
- Actively contribute to achievement and build positive relationships within project and discipline teams.
- Proactively develop personal knowledge and skills to build the team’s internal knowledge base.
- Maintain a solid understanding of project finances and project management, ideally within a consultancy environment.
- Line manage and mentor colleagues in their work and project delivery roles.
- Degree level qualification in town planning (or equivalent).
- Member of the RTPI.
- Demonstrable experience of securing consent and approvals for major or nationally significant infrastructure projects under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, Planning Act 2008, Transport and Works Act Order and related legislation.
