Role descriptionAs a Consultant you will be an integrated member of our UK Groundwater Advisory team, whose primary role is to support in the collection, collation and interpretation – including quantitative assessment and modelling – of hydrogeological data on a broad range of engineering, environmental and water resource projects. You will work across a wide range of projects, providing technical advice and assessment for built environment projects and water supply companies, partnering with clients, building deep understanding of their challenges, applying your technical knowledge, and possibly broadening skills in site investigation, land quality and engineering geology.
LocationUp to 3 years’ experience in a consultancy, water company or regulatory environment. Key locations:
Birmingham, London, Bristol, Guilford, Glasgow, or Exeter; other Arcadis offices may be considered.
- Process data from site investigations (groundwater levels, well pumping records, geological information, chemical quality) and databases (topographic data, rainfall data, soil and land use).
- Assist the project team in developing hydrogeological conceptual models for hydrogeological impact appraisals and for 2D/3D models.
- Present outputs in software products, including GUIs, GIS, and MS Office applications.
- Document interpretation, model rationale, and outcomes so they can be followed by the team.
- Contribute to report production.
- Fulfill duties within the Arcadis business management system, including mandatory training, timesheets, and other submissions.
- Respond proactively to potential delays to reduce or eliminate risk.
- Sound knowledge of geology and hydrogeology within consultancy, water company, or regulatory setting.
- MSc in Hydrogeology or similar (or higher) desired.
- Experience with developing and calibrating 3D groundwater models desirable.
- Effective interpersonal, communication and time management skills.
- Preferred: full, clean driving licence.
