Role Description
We have an enviable reputation in the delivery of some of the UK’s most prestigious and challenging schemes and we continue to add to this portfolio, with projects such as Washwood Heath Depot for HS2, Metrowest Phase 1b, and CP7 Framework Projects. As we are also a truly multi sector company there are also opportunities to work in a variety of parallel sectors such as housing & development, local authority, building structures and education.
Requirements:
We are seeking to reinforce our Civil Structural teams at all levels and are seeking to appoint Principal Civil / Structural Engineers to support the expanding rail design team in our London and Bristol Offices, and will require successful applicants to lead in the delivery of a wide variety of projects from bridge replacement projects through to leading our multi-disciplinary teams delivering our many station and depot projects across the region.
Accountabilities
The role will also require successful candidates to lead interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables on behalf of engineering discipline, undertake verification checking of elements at high complexity, manage production of quality assure analysis and design; and coordination and integration of survey requirements onsite.
In addition to the above the role will require the development and management of the performance of team members and sub-contractors, identifying and ensuring the resolution of any issues, and supporting our Project Directors and Managers in the commercial management of our projects to ensure a successful result.
Qualifications and Experience- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Chartership with either the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE)
- CRE experience is preferable, but mentoring will be provided if currently working towards this.
- Relevant design experience, preferably within a Rail environment.
- Experience preparing design deliverables using analysis and design software packages as well as using manual calculation methods
- Experience of providing technical management and advice to project team members
- Experience of applying sound engineering judgement in the development of projects
- Have a sound knowledge and experience of the management of design risks
