The Structural Engineer position in Bristol is a full‑time role offering a salary between £35,000 and £45,000. The successful candidate will join a respected consultancy, working on projects spanning commercial, residential, industrial and mixed‑use sectors.
OpportunityYou’ll become part of a collaborative team of experienced engineers and technicians, working closely with senior technical leaders on projects from concept through to completion. Key Responsibilities- Carry out structural analysis and design calculations for a range of building projects.
- Produce technical designs and specifications using industry‑standard software and engineering principles.
- Utilise structural design packages such as TEKLA Structural Designer, TEDDS and other relevant software.
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and design documentation.
- Attend client meetings, design team workshops, and site inspections as required.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors and other consultants to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timescales and budgets.
- Support and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and best practice.
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng, MEng, or equivalent).
- Approximately 4–6 years’ post‑graduate structural engineering experience within a UK consultancy environment.
- Experience working on building structures across a variety of sectors.
- Proficient in structural design software, including TEKLA Structural Designer and TEDDS.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and project teams.
- Working towards Chartership or keen to progress towards professional accreditation.
