Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive Systems Proving Engineer to join the Integration and Systems Validation team for the Naval Based Air Defence domain (Sea Viper). The role involves planning, executing, and analysing trials in support of ship‑borne air defence systems.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with systems engineering and design teams to plan, generate and execute trials.
- Liaise with engineering and design teams to ensure adequate trial data is acquired and to investigate and resolve design issues.
- Generate trial documentation and prepare, deliver, and follow up internal and external Trials Readiness Reviews.
- Conduct post‑trial data analysis and reporting.
- Execute and support trials including laboratory, ground, harbour, sea, and firing trials.
- Assist with laboratory management responsibilities such as maintaining risk assessments, asset management, host audits, and lab safety.
- Maintain hardware and software configuration control.
- Travel within the UK and possibly abroad as required.
- Experience working in one of the following environments:
System Integration, Design Proving and Trials, Naval Integration, Missile Test, Interface Design, System assessment and acceptance, Design Verification, Electrical/Mechanical construction and interfacing, Electronic design/test, Network integration. - Effective communication with a wide range of internal customers, subcontractors, partners and suppliers at both engineering and management levels.
- Beneficial experience with MBSE tools (e.g., DOORS, Rhapsody, RTC).
- Beneficial but not essential experience with coding, especially Python.
- British citizenship or dual UK nationality with British citizenship; must undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).
- Salary:
Up to £46,000 depending on experience. - Dynamic hybrid working: up to 4 days per week on site.
