Field Service & Commissioning Engineer

Elevation Recruitment Group's Engineering Services Division are supporting a specialist manufacturing company based in Yorkshire with the recruitment of a skilled and motivated Field Service & Commissioning Engineer covering the South of the UK.

The Field Service & Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical switch gear equipment at client sites across various industries all across the Southern half of the UK, with some occasional international travel.

Key responsibilities of the Field Service & Commissioning Engineer include:

• Installation and site-based commissioning of LV/MV switch gear systems, including functional testing, protection relay configuration, and system integration and site acceptance testing
• Conduct pre-commissioning checks, insulation resistance tests, and fault diagnostics
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
• Liaise with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
• Prepare and submit detailed commissioning reports, test records, and documentation, and provide technical support and trouble shooting
• Participate in site surveys, risk assessments, and method statement preparation

Qualifications and Professional background needed for the Field Service & Commissioning Engineer include:

• Apprentice trained/ONC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in commissioning LV/MV switch gear
• Familiarity with protection relays
• Experience with SCADA systems, PLCs, and automation interfaces
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple site activities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel (including internationally) and work flexible hours, including weekends if required.
• Full Clean UK Driving License
• Must be willing to undertake in-depth security clearance
