Role description:

We are recruiting for an Associate Technical Director to manage projects and client accounts and lead teams focussed on supporting clients to deliver their objectives and outcomes. The focus will be on delivery of transport planning projects with proven skills in multi-modal, sustainable and new mobility transport strategy, policy and scheme development. Additionally, candidates will need to demonstrate client relationships, bid writing experience and the ability to develop and win pipeline opportunities.

Candidate should have a focus on clients and delivery across the United Kingdom, but with specific relationships with clients in the North. Our current client portfolio includes numerous Local Authorities across the North, Transport for Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Transport for London.

The Transport Planning team operates across the UK, with a presence in the South, the Midlands, and the North of England, as well as offices in Wales and Scotland.  We require a proven Transport Planner to join this established and enthusiastic team to work on existing and upcoming projects and develop client relationships.

Role accountabilities:

Transport Planning delivery

Create an environment & expectations for consistent high-quality service delivery which is recognized as the best through relentless focus on exceeding client expectations and leads to repeat business.

Optimise ways of working, delivery models and evolve usage of the GEC to enable better commercial performance across projects.

Manage projects and key accounts.

Support the development and growth of the Transport Planning delivery team.

Growth Work with Transport Planning Leads to create the market for, bid and win new work and repeat business.

Support the development of bids and marketing  a market facing lead for Transport Planning and build strong client relationships.

Support the creation of brand recognition for Arcadis in Transport Planning. Capability & Development Identify long-term requirements for skills and capabilities for Transport Planning and play an active role in ensuring learning and development is delivered to build capability.

Build competence & skills in line with future Client need.

Standardization of Service & Best Practice Work with UK&I Mobility Advisory Service Director to develop standards and define best practice. Support implementation of agreed standards and create an environment for adoption of best practice.

Automation & Digitalization of Service Create environment for and deploy automated solutions to repeatable processes which improve efficiency and lower our cost of delivery Bring consistent application of optimal use of digital tools and data Client satisfaction scores

Experience:

The candidate should have a bachelor’s or master’s degree and experience leading or working within a relevant business function within a multinational engineering or professional services firm or public sector organisation. Proven track record of high-quality delivery in the Transport Planning space. Demonstrate leadership capability and the ability to inspire geographically dispersed teams around a common set of processes, procedures, systems, and tools.…
