A growing environmental consultancy is establishing a new Bristol office and is looking for an experienced Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant to play a key role in building the local team and supporting the delivery of a growing project portfolio.

This is an excellent opportunity for a consultant who wants to take the next step in their career, with the chance to work across a varied range of contaminated land and geoenvironmental projects while helping to develop the new office.

The Role

You will be involved in the delivery of geoenvironmental projects from initial site investigation through to reporting and remediation. The role will combine technical delivery, client liaison and project management, with opportunities to take increasing responsibility for projects and support more junior members of the team.

Responsibilities will include:

Planning and managing Phase 1 and Phase 2 contaminated land assessments
Reviewing historical, geological and environmental information
Designing and supervising ground investigations
Producing factual and interpretative geoenvironmental reports
Assessing soil and groundwater contamination data
Preparing conceptual site models and preliminary risk assessments
Supporting remediation strategies and validation works
Liaising with clients, contractors, laboratories and regulators
Preparing fee proposals and supporting project management
Mentoring and developing junior consultants
Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business
Supporting the growth and development of the new Bristol office

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

A degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Geoscience or a related discipline
Several years' experience within geoenvironmental or contaminated land consultancy
Strong experience delivering Phase 1 and Phase 2 assessments

Experience of supervising ground investigations and site works
Good knowledge of UK contaminated land legislation and guidance
Strong technical report writing skills
Excellent communication and client-facing abilities
The ability to manage projects and work to deadlines
A full UK driving licence

Chartered or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body would be advantageous.

The Opportunity

Joining at the early stage of a new Bristol office means you will have genuine scope to influence how the team develops, build client relationships and progress your career as the office grows.

The role would suit a Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant looking for greater responsibility, technical variety and the opportunity to be part of building a successful regional team
