Senior Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer Are you an experienced Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer ready to take the next step in your career? The RoleAs a Senior Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer, you will take responsibility for delivering technical solutions across a variety of development projects, while supporting project management, client relationships and the development of junior team members.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies.
- Managing detailed drainage design schemes for residential and commercial developments.
- Providing planning advice relating to flood risk, drainage and masterplan layouts.
- Managing projects, resources, budgets and client expectations.
- Assisting with fee proposals and supporting business development opportunities.
- Representing the consultancy at design team meetings, council meetings, public exhibitions and networking events.
- Providing guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
You will have:
- A relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree, such as Civil Engineering.
- Strong experience in flood risk assessment and drainage design.
- Experience using Info Drainage and/or Micro Drainage.
- Experience preparing planning application reports, including Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy Reports.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of NPPF, CIRIA SuDS Design Manual, Sewer Sector Guidance and Building Regulations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to advise clients and stakeholders confidently.
- The ability to manage deadlines, budgets, project resources and client expectations.
- A creative and logical approach to solving engineering challenges.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Fluvial and pluvial flood risk modelling.
- Preparation of S104 drainage designs for technical approval.
- Supervising and mentoring engineers.
- Developing new business through industry contacts.
