competitive plus benefits

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer to join a well-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy in Bristol. The position is available at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, with full-time and part-time options considered.

The role offers the chance to work on a varied portfolio of residential and commercial developments within a friendly and collaborative team, with strong opportunities for professional development and career progression.

The successful candidate will have solid experience in Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies and detailed drainage design, ideally gained within a consultancy environment.

The position will involve working closely with clients, local authorities, architects, planning consultants and wider design teams, providing clear technical advice and contributing to planning and design discussions.

At Senior Engineer level, there will also be opportunities to lead projects, prepare fee proposals, manage budgets and resources, and provide specialist planning advice relating to flood risk, drainage and development masterplans. Attendance at design team and local authority meetings, public consultations and networking events will also form part of the role.

Candidates should hold a relevant Civil Engineering degree and have experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage schemes using Info Drainage and/or Micro Drainage. Strong AutoCAD skills and experience producing planning reports, including Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy Reports, are essential.

Experience of fluvial and pluvial flood risk modelling would be advantageous, as would previous involvement in preparing S104 drainage designs and securing technical approvals from the relevant authorities.
