We’re looking for a Senior Urban Drainage Modeller to join our growing teams across Warrington, Manchester, Birmingham, Derby, Cardiff or Bristol. You’ll become part of a nationally recognised community of more than 175 modelling specialists, working alongside experienced engineers, environmental specialists and digital experts.

ABOUT

THE ROLE As a Senior Urban Drainage Modeller, you’ll take responsibility for the technical delivery of urban drainage and wastewater modelling projects, working closely with project managers, technical leads and multidisciplinary teams to develop effective solutions for our clients.

You will:

Lead the delivery of urban drainage and wastewater modelling studies from investigation through to completion.

Develop, verify, calibrate and analyse hydraulic models using Info Works ICM and associated GIS tools.

Deliver modelling assessments across wastewater networks, storm overflows, flooding, water quality and network performance.

Interpret modelling outputs and provide clear technical recommendations to support client investment and operational decisions.

Work collaboratively with engineers, environmental specialists, modellers and client teams to develop practical and sustainable solutions.

Support project planning, programming and the delivery of high-quality technical outputs.

Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced modellers, helping to build capability across the wider team.

Contribute to digital innovation, technical best practice and improvements to modelling processes and approaches.

Your modelling expertise will contribute to solutions that address flooding, storm overflow impacts, water quality and environmental compliance, helping create better outcomes for communities and the environment.

You’ll also have an important role in strengthening our Urban Drainage Modelling capability, sharing your experience with colleagues, supporting developing modellers and contributing to innovative digital approaches. With exposure to a wide range of projects and clients, you’ll be able to broaden your expertise while developing towards future leadership opportunities.

ABOUT YOU Essential

Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Engineering or a related discipline.

Experience delivering urban drainage, wastewater or hydraulic modelling projects.

Strong practical experience using Info Works ICMGood understanding of hydraulic modelling principles and their application to wastewater networks.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex modelling outputs.

Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary project teams and contributing to client-facing activities.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly and support the development of colleagues.

Desirable Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng) or actively working towards.

Membership of a relevant professional institution such as ICE or CIWEM.Experience delivering flood risk, storm overflow, water quality or wider wastewater modelling studies.

Experience working with UK regulated water companies or within AMP programmes.
