The Role

As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a key role in delivering a varied portfolio of planning projects, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

Acting as Planning Lead or supporting the Planning Lead on a range of projects.
Working across a variety of planning, development and infrastructure projects.
Taking responsibility for project management and successful project delivery.
Acting as lead consultant on multidisciplinary projects where appropriate.
Supporting the preparation of bids, tender submissions and framework responses.
Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
Supporting business development and wider work-winning opportunities.
Preparing high-quality planning reports, submissions and technical documentation.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across environmental, engineering, design and other specialist disciplines.
Providing support and guidance to junior members of the planning team.
Contributing to the continued growth and development of the wider planning team.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

A relevant degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
Chartered status or be actively working towards MRTPI.
Strong experience within planning consultancy or a related environment.
Experience across strategic planning and planning policy.
An understanding of TCPA, DCO, TWAO or equivalent planning and consenting processes.

Experience of the Environmental Impact Assessment process would be advantageous.
The ability to manage multiple assignments and deliver work to deadlines and within budget.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The confidence to provide planning advice and engage with clients and stakeholders.
The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
A proactive, enthusiastic and commercially aware approach.
A demonstrable ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
