Salary: £35,000+ (depending on experience)
Working hours:
Monday - Friday (flexible start/finish times)

Our client is a small but stable business based near Soham, Cambridgeshire. They specialize in designing and assembling scientific machinery for various R&D environments. With a low staff turnover, they are now looking to hire a mechanical engineer due to an upcoming retirement. Full training will be provided.
Role & Responsibilities:- Produce 2D drawings using DesignCAD
- Design vacuum-based instrumentation
- Utilize 3D modeling for assembly reviews
- Design using materials such as polymers, alloys, bronze, and stainless steel
- Work as the sole mechanical engineer after a hand-over period
Skills & Experience:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience with 2D and 3D design software
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to take on new challenges
- Experience with ultra-high vacuum systems (advantageous)
- Experience with high-voltage ion optics (advantageous)
