Job description
As Steelwork Delivery Team Lead, you will hold leadership responsibility for the design replication of the HPC Nuclear Island Secondary Steelwork Design for the SZC Project, ensuring technical excellence, quality, safety and delivery performance at every stage. You will lead and inspire a high-performing team of approximately 10 - 12 design managers and engineers, creating an environment that drives innovation, collaboration, accountability and professional growth.
What will you be doing?
Define and communicate the strategic direction, priorities and operational objectives for the EPR-E SZC Steelwork Design Team. Lead and manage all steelwork design replication activities, ensuring delivery against scope, schedule, quality and technical requirements. Lead, manage and develop a team of between 10 – 12 FTEs, creating a high performing environment focused on collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement. Provide technical leadership and oversight for steelwork design, ensuring solutions are aligned with overall design replication strategy, together with project standards and regulatory requirements.
Maintain ownership of the day-to-day management of the SZC steelwork design team, including resource planning, workload allocation and delivery oversight.
Ensure steelwork design outputs are delivered in accordance with programme milestones, engineering standards and quality requirements. Work closely with the EPR-E SZC Building Branch and wider multi-disciplinary teams to ensure alignment and integration with internal stakeholders. Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
Identify, manage and mitigate technical delivery and resource related risks associated with steelwork design activities.
