Project Manager, Operations Management

Belcan is seeking a number of talented Project Managers, from experienced professionals through to senior-level leaders, to support major programmes across our Aerospace and Marine divisions.

Working from our Bristol, Derby or Glasgow offices with hybrid working, you'll join a collaborative Project Management Office responsible for delivering technically challenging engineering projects for some of the world's most recognised aerospace, defence and marine organisations.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of high-profile projects, influence key stakeholders, and help deliver innovative engineering solutions from concept through to completion.

The Role As a Project Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of multiple engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, customers and senior stakeholders, taking responsibility for project planning, financial performance, risk management, reporting and customer engagement.

You will also play a key role in shaping and improving project management standards, processes and best practices across the business.

Key Responsibilities Lead and deliver a portfolio of engineering projects and work packages.

Develop and maintain robust project plans, schedules and work breakdown structures.

Manage project budgets, forecasts and cost performance.

Track and report project KPIs, earned value metrics and delivery progress.

Identify, manage and mitigate project risks and opportunities.

Drive effective change control across project and portfolio activities.

Build strong relationships with customers, engineering teams and key stakeholders.

Produce clear and concise internal and external project reporting.

Support continuous improvement of PMO processes, tools and standards.

Ensure projects are resourced appropriately and aligned to customer requirements.

About You We're looking for motivated Project Managers who thrive in a fast-paced engineering environment and enjoy leading teams to successful outcomes.

You'll have:

Proven experience managing engineering projects within a complex stakeholder environment.

Experience developing project frameworks, schedules and work breakdown structures.

A strong understanding of cost control, risk management and project governance.

Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with demanding delivery schedules.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.The ability to analyse data, identify trends and make informed decisions.

Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance due to the nature of the projects involved.
