Talent is recruiting for a Sustainability Consultant or Senior Sustainability Consultant in Bristol to join a leading engineering and sustainability consultancy.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sustainability professional with knowledge of Whole Life Carbon, embodied carbon and Circular Economy principles to work on a diverse range of built environment projects.

You’ll work alongside clients, architects, engineers, design teams and contractors to help reduce both embodied and operational carbon and deliver more sustainable buildings.

Your primary focus will be the delivery of Whole Life Carbon assessments and Circular Economy strategies
, supporting projects from early-stage design through to construction.

Depending on your level of experience, your responsibilities will include:

• Producing Whole Life Carbon and embodied carbon assessments using One Click LCA and other assessment tools
• Delivering BREEAM Mat 01 appraisals
• Developing carbon reduction strategies and project-specific carbon targets
• Leading or supporting Whole Life Carbon workshops with clients and design teams
• Advising clients on Circular Economy strategies and sustainable design
• Monitoring carbon performance throughout design and construction
• Supporting wider sustainability projects, including BREEAM, WELL, HQM, energy strategies and building performance
• Supporting and developing junior members of the sustainability team
• Contributing to technical development, research and best practice

For candidates joining at Senior Sustainability Consultant level, there will also be opportunities to take greater responsibility for project leadership, client relationships and technical delivery.

You’ll already have experience within the built environment sector
, ideally gained within a sustainability, engineering or multidisciplinary consultancy.

We’re particularly interested in candidates with experience or knowledge in several of the following areas:

• Whole Life Carbon assessments
• Embodied and operational carbon
• One Click LCA or similar carbon assessment software
• RICS Whole Life Carbon guidance
• UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard
• UKGBC, LETI and/or IStructE guidance
• Circular Economy Statements
• Net Zero Carbon strategies

Experience with
BREEAM, WELL, Fitwel, Part L, NABERS, Passivhaus, energy modelling or sustainability strategies would also be advantageous.

You’ll ideally hold a relevant degree in sustainability, engineering, science or a related discipline and have strong communication skills, together with a genuine interest in creating a more sustainable built environment.

The successful Sustainability Consultant or Senior Sustainability Consultant will receive:

• £38,000 – £55,000 salary, depending on experience
