See it differently
You see the world through a unique lens and that’s exactly what we need. We embrace how you see things differently – it’s essential for creating a sustainable future.
Arup is a global consultancy with advisory and technical expertise across more than 150 disciplines. We guide, plan and design the future of the built environment. Globally, each year we recruit hundreds of graduates and students who help us see things differently and solve the most complex challenges facing our clients, climate and communities.
Our Renewables and Offshore Wind team in Arup thrives on the diversity and technical challenge of its work. We support clients and projects across the technology spectrum of offshore wind (fixed and floating), onshore wind, solar, tidal, hydrogen and other emerging energy technologies. We often play a key role in large, multidisciplinary project delivery programmes. Our services span strategy and feasibility, site and technology assessment, concept and detailed design, analysis, due diligence, project development and construction support across the full project lifecycle.
Theopportunity
Joining the Arup team is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Engineer to build a career in renewables and offshore wind. You will work alongside structural, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, environmental, digital and other engineering specialists, helping to integrate complex technical inputs into practical, high-quality solutions for our clients.
Our Graduate Engineers contribute to work including offshore wind turbine and foundation engineering, floating substructures and mooring systems, offshore wind structural and geotechnical analysis, integrated loads and dynamic response, marine and port infrastructure interfaces, energy yield and performance assessment, project optimization, technical advisory and due diligence. The role offers exposure to design, analysis as well as the broader commercial and project delivery challenges facing renewable energy projects, including floating offshore wind, tidal and hydrogen projects.
We are particularly interested in analytically skilled engineers who enjoy breaking down complex problems, working confidently with numbers and data, testing assumptions and communicating clear conclusions. Curiosity, collaboration and effective communication are fundamental, as you will work with internal specialists and external organisations including clients, developers, contractors, suppliers and consenting bodies.
You will support the preparation of calculations, models, design reports, technical specifications, drawings, feasibility studies and business cases. You may analyse complex datasets, develop and compare engineering options, automate repeatable workflows, interrogate model outputs and present evidence-based recommendations to project teams and clients.
You will work with a broad range of renewable energy clients, including offshore wind and energy developers, utilities, investors and lenders, original equipment manufacturers, fabricators, installation contractors, port and marine organisations, government bodies and supply-chain partners. You may also undertake site visits and surveys, meet clients and stakeholders, and collaborate with teams across Arup and the wider industry.
Arup will support you in your professional development, providing you with the necessary experience and training to deepen your professional skills and progress with your professional qualifications.
Is this role right for you? We’re looking for the following qualifications, attributes and skills:
- A relevant engineering, physics, mathematics or other strongly quantitative degree or equivalent, expecting a 2:1 or above
- A clear interest in developing a professional…
