Core3 is delighted to partner with a respected not-for-profit organisation in Bristol to recruit a Head of Finance. This is a unique opportunity to lead a finance function within an organisation that directly improves lives, helping people to live independently and with dignity. This role will suit an interim candidate looking to make a meaningful impact.
The role offers up to £420 per day (Inside IR35) with the possibility of the offer of a permanent role.

How You'll Make an ImpactAs a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will oversee financial operations, ensuring the organisation remains financially robust and well-positioned for the future. This is a hands‑on role with a strategic outlook, balancing financial management with commercial thinking.
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure long-term stability.
- Oversee cash flow, treasury management, and financial controls.
- Provide financial insight to support decision‑making at senior leadership level.
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting and regulatory requirements.
- Manage external relationships, including auditors, funders, and key stakeholders.
- Develop financial reporting and analytics to improve transparency and efficiency.
- Support tendering processes and contract management to ensure financial viability.
- Work collaboratively with operational teams to optimise cost structures and financial performance.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, including automation and system enhancements.
The ideal candidate is a values‑driven finance leader who thrives in a mission‑led environment. You'll have a balance of hands‑on financial expertise and strategic thinking, with the ability to support decision‑making in a dynamic not‑for‑profit setting.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
- Experience gained in the private sector.
- Proven ability to work with senior leadership and operational teams.
- Hands‑on financial management experience, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance.
- Experience with contract management, funding models, or public sector finance is desirable.
- Commercially minded with an ability to think strategically while remaining detail‑oriented.
- Strong people skills with a collaborative and supportive leadership approach.
- IT/ERP systems experience (e.g., Dynamics 365) is an advantage.
