Management Accountant

Investigo are recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing logistics businessoperating across the UK and Europe, delivering time-critical and customer-focused transport solutions. As the business continues to scale, they are looking to appoint a commercially minded Management Accountant to support performance, decision-making, and ongoing growth.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Management Accountant will play a key role in producing high-quality management information, delivering insightful analysis, and providing commercial support to operational teams. You will work closely with finance leadership and operational stakeholders to improve cost control, profitability, and forecasting across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accountant who enjoys working close to the operation in a fast-paced logistics environment.

• Preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L and balance sheet commentary
• Deliver detailed variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior periods
• Support budgeting and rolling forecasts in collaboration with operational teams
• Analyse key logistics KPIs, including cost per mile, utilisation, fuel costs, and margin by route/customer
• Maintain strong balance sheet control, including accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
• Provide commercial insight to support pricing, route optimisation, and cost-reduction initiatives
• Deliver ad hoc analysis and reporting for senior management
• Identify and implement process improvements across reporting and month-end close

• Proven experience in a management accounting or commercial finance role
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate data clearly
• Confident business partner, comfortable working with non-finance stakeholders
• Experience in logistics, transport, distribution, or a similar operational environment advantageous

£55,000 – £60,000 base salary plus full benefits package to include Hybrid working 3-4 days office based in Northampton.
