Our client is a fast-growing independent company operating within the financial services sector.

They are looking to recruit a hands‑on Head of Finance who will manage the existing finance department and FCA reporting requirements. The successful candidate will work across the business to help improve processes and efficiency and create a robust financial platform. For the right candidate the role could evolve into a permanent placement.

As Head of Finance you will play a central role overseeing the team and improving the financial processes.

You will be required to get into the detail, whilst also being a confident communicator and comfortable presenting financial data.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing sound financial and commercial management;
• Delivering the required bank covenant reporting;
• Managing and developing systems and processes to improve efficiency and reporting requirements;
• Managing and supporting members of the finance team;
• Managing the in-house payroll process;
• Ensuring all statutory and FCA financial compliance requirements are met;
• Provide recommendations for the implementation of financial system migration to one standard platform;
• Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with key stakeholders including auditors, lenders and HMRC.

As Head of Finance you will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) who has experience of managing a team working in an FCA regulated environment within an SME.

Ideally you will demonstrate:

• Experience of improving financial processes;
• Strong analytical, presentation and Excel skills;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Commercial acumen;
• A pragmatic, self‑motivated and proactive mindset.
