Introduction:

Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) are looking for a self‑motivated and highly capable individual to take the role of Senior Finance Analyst within our Overhead & Rates team of BDUK. In an increasingly competitive environment and a continuing emphasis on cost control, the business requires this role to partner with the BDUK business to deliver sustainable and measured cost performance across headcount, utilisation and indirect spend.

This role will report to the Head of FP&A and Financial Analysis and liaise closely with the Overhead & Rates Lead to deliver against both functional and business objectives.

The role will provide an opportunity to gain great exposure to both the Finance Senior Leadership team and the broader BDUK leadership team. The insight it provides into the broader business will ensure an ambitious individual can build a great career at Boeing.

Position Responsibilities:

Key elements of the role include but not limited to the following:

  • Operate as a Business partner to the key functional areas of the BDUK business, supporting with the collation of affordability forecasts, tracking of actuals against forecast/budget and preparing variance analysis to understand key drivers of deviations to both forecast and budget.
  • Production of the monthly ‘Waterfall’ reports detailing status on overhead and G&A recovery, variations to budget in labour base and forecasted year‑end overhead and G&A rates.
  • Management of the quarterly update to BDUK Overhead & G&A Rates.
  • Evaluation of key Risks and Opportunities to meet Annual Budgets and provision of recommendations/input into key business decisions as a result.
  • Drive consistency and standardisation across the wider BDUK Finance team, ensuring compliance to Boeing standards and requirements.
  • Key interface with the Customer as part of the review of BDUK Rates.
  • Important conduit to the Estimating and Pricing team within BDUK to ensure proposed work is priced in a profitable manner.
Basic Qualifications (Skills/Experience):
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
Preferred Qualifications (Skills/Experience):
  • The role will require broad financial acumen and a firm grasp of management accounting methodologies across budgeting, cost absorption, variance analysis and forecasting.
  • The successful candidate should ideally hold a professional qualification in CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent.
  • Be proficient in Excel modelling/data manipulation and hold the ability to distil complex financial information and data into simple and clear messaging for the business leaders. As a result, good use of management reporting tools (eg Microsoft PowerPoint) will be key.
  • A people person with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to partner with the business across all functions and levels. Business Partnering is critical to the role and therefore the successful candidate will have the ability to exhibit this on a regular basis.
