Job Information
The University of Bedfordshire is seeking to appoint a highly skilled and qualified Financial Accountant to join the Corporate Finance and Compliance team within the Finance department.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Finance and Compliance, you will play a central role in supporting the University's external reporting and statutory compliance requirements. Key responsibilities include leading the year end processes and preparing the annual financial statements, preparing VAT returns, undertaking cash flow forecasting and completing balance sheet reconciliations. You will also act as a primary contact for both internal and external auditors, working collaboratively with colleagues across the University to ensure the highest standards of financial governance and accuracy.
You will:
- hold a recognised professional accountancy qualification (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), with evidence of continuing professional development
- have experience of working in a large and complex organisation, strong knowledge and experience of statutory accounts preparation and reporting under FRS
102 - demonstrate excellent organisational and time management skills
- be able to work independently, producing high quality work within agreed deadlines
- be hard working, conscientious and professional in your approach.
- Possess strong communication and analytical skills
- be pro‑active, motivated and effective team player
