Part-Time Financial Controller

A growing, privately owned SME is seeking a commercially minded Part-Time Financial Controller (4 days/week) to lead and strengthen its finance function.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced SME finance professional who enjoys operating close to the founders, improving processes, and providing clear, decision-ready insight - not just producing numbers.

Reporting directly to the Directors, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function while adding value through forecasting, modelling and commercial insight.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Ownership of monthly management accounts and board reporting
• Cashflow forecasting and working capital management
• Budgeting and reforecasting processes
• Financial modelling to support pricing, investment and growth initiatives
• Overseeing transactional finance and improving controls
• Developing and refining reporting dashboards (Xero-based)
• Supporting strategic decision-making with clear analysis

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience operating as a Financial Controller (or strong Finance Manager ready to step up) within an SME environment
• Is confident using Xero and comfortable optimising its reporting capability
• Has exposure to financial modelling (cashflow, scenario analysis, growth modelling)
• Is hands-on, pragmatic and commercially aware
• Enjoys working closely with entrepreneurial founders
• Ideally ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or qualified by experience in SME settings)
