Management Accountant

An established and growing owner-managed business in South Bristol is looking to appoint a fully qualified Management Accountant into a broad, high-impact role working directly with the CEO.

This is a genuine end-to-end opportunity where you'll take ownership of the entire finance function - delivering the numbers, the insight and the financial direction of the business.

Far more than a traditional month-end role, you'll act as the CEO's financial sounding board, helping to shape commercial decisions while ensuring robust control, cashflow management and forward planning.

This position is ideally suited to a qualified accountant stepping into their first No.1 role
, or an experienced SME finance professional who enjoys autonomy, visibility and breadth.

As the standalone finance lead, you'll be responsible for:

• Producing monthly management accounts with meaningful analysis and commentary
• Leading the budgeting and forecasting process
• Full ownership of cashflow and working capital management
• Maintaining strong financial controls and balance sheet integrity
• Managing VAT, HMRC compliance, statutory accounts and the year-end audit
• Acting as the key contact for banks, auditors and external advisers
• Partnering with the CEO on performance, cost control, investment appraisal and strategic planning
• Delivering financial modelling and scenario analysis
• Improving processes, systems and reporting as the business grows

• Fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• Strong management accounting and month-end experience
• Able to operate in a hands‑on, standalone capacity
• Experience in an SME / owner‑managed business - or a clear desire to move into one
• Commercially aware, proactive and comfortable working directly with senior stakeholders
• Motivated by ownership, impact and the opportunity to progress to Finance Director
