What you will do:
  • Create and maintain a portfolio of Commercial Banking customers, achieving this through business development and promotion of the Metro Bank brand and products.
  • Build key relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Maximise the customer relationship while being compliant during customer interactions with awareness of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF).
  • Make lending decisions to support Metro Bank’s business objectives whilst reinforcing correct operational processes and ensuring we get things right the first time for the customer.
  • Take responsibility for credit risk and financial crime risk of your portfolio.
  • Generate new business.
  • Support retail colleagues in local Stores.
  • Leverage portfolio and relationship management experience.
  • Track record of generating new business.
  • Hit or exceed personal and business objectives.
  • Take responsibility for risk and call out any concerns.

What you will need:
  • Excellent communication and customer/client relationship management with an ethos of providing exceptional customer service.
  • A self‑starter, motivated to meet or exceed your own personal and business objectives.
  • Ability to build rapport internally and externally.
  • Sound knowledge of commercial banking.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of the products we offer.
  • Ability to understand and write credit papers to the required level.
  • Awareness of financial crime and what good looks like.
  • Portfolio and relationship management experience.
  • Track record of generating new business.
  • Hit or exceed personal and business objectives.
  • Perform any other duties reasonably falling within the role.
