About the Role

Are you looking to start a career in finance, or do you already have some accounts experience and want to develop your skills within a successful automotive retail group? Dick Lovett is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our finance team.

This is a great opportunity to build your finance career in a busy dealership environment. Supporting the day-to-day running of the accounts function, you'll gain valuable experience across a range of accounting and administrative tasks, including cashbook management, invoice processing, reconciliations and payment support. Full training and development will be provided, with salary dependent on experience.

Job Opportunity

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Processing and reconciling daily cashbook / bank transactions.
  • Preparing financial information and maintaining accurate accounting records.
  • Reconciling credit card transactions, supplier statements, and ledger accounts.
  • Processing purchase invoices.
  • Assisting with fortnightly BACS payments, finance settlements and vehicle payments.
  • Supporting the wider Finance team with administrative and accounting duties.
  • Ensuring compliance with company procedures and maintaining a high level of accuracy in all work.
Essential Skills
  • Ideally we are looking for a candidate with previous experience in an Accounting role or who is qualified to AAT Level 3.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Good numerical skills and confidence working with financial data.
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Well organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A methodical approach and ability to work with a high volume of information.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and eagerness to develop within a finance role.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
