Part Time Finance Assistant

Hours & Pattern Part-time Two office days each week, with the remaining time worked flexibly from home or the office Working days and start/finish times can be arranged with the successful candidate About the Role A small, close-knit finance team is looking for a careful, organised Finance Assistant to join on a part-time basis. The role covers bank transaction processing and reconciliation for several companies, day-to-day credit control on the sales ledger, and general support across the wider finance function.

What We're Looking For Prior experience in an Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant type role Solid reconciliation skills, including handling transactions in more than one currency Experience managing accounts across separate legal entities Confident credit control experience - comfortable chasing overdue payments and dealing directly with customers Competent user of Excel and general Microsoft 365 tools Familiarity with a major cloud ERP/accounting platform would be helpful but is not a requirement Highly organised with a strong eye for detail and a self-starting attitude Able to work flexibly around month-end reporting deadlines A working understanding of basic VAT rules AAT qualification (full or part) is a plus, though solid hands-on experience matters more Main Duties Post and process bank transactions daily Carry out regular bank reconciliations and chase down any discrepancies Handle general banking admin - resolving queries, managing online banking user access, and keeping records in good order for audit purposes Owning credit control end-to-end: chasing overdue invoices and resolving customer disputes or queries Match and allocate incoming payments, keeping customer account records accurate Pick up other finance tasks as they come up Requirements AAT qualified, or partway through the qualification Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
