Job Description & How to Apply Below

Ambitious Portfolio Analyst wanted to drive real impact in Financial Services from Bristol.

Financial services firms are under constant pressure to justify every decision with data, and portfolio construction is where that pressure lands hardest. This growing investment business, still small enough that everyone knows what everyone else is working on, needs a Portfolio Analyst who can turn market noise into clear recommendations. You'd be joining a lean team where your analysis genuinely shapes client outcomes, not just feeds a committee deck nobody reads.

Here's

what you'll be doing:
  • Build and maintain portfolio models that track performance against benchmarks and client objectives
  • Analyse asset allocation, sector exposure and risk concentration across multiple portfolios
  • Produce client-facing reports that explain performance in plain terms, not jargon
  • Monitor market movements and flag anything that changes the risk picture
  • Work directly with portfolio managers on rebalancing decisions and trade rationale
  • Support due diligence on new investment opportunities and fund selection
Here are the skills you'll need:
  • A few years' experience in portfolio analysis, asset management or a related financial services role
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with Bloomberg or similar platforms is a plus
  • A genuine interest in markets, not just the mechanics of spreadsheets
  • Comfortable presenting findings to portfolio managers and, occasionally, clients directly
  • Progress towards (or completion of) IMC or CFA is welcomed, though not mandatory
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership. Nobody here hands you a script
Key perks and benefits:
  • Salary of £46,500 to £61,000, depending on experience
  • Equity in the business, so the upside is genuinely shared
  • Flexible working hours around a core office day in Bristol
  • A real learning and development budget, used how you see fit
  • A flat structure where your ideas reach decision-makers fast, not after three layers of sign-off
Why pursue a career in Financial Services?

Bristol has quietly become one of the UK's strongest regional hubs for financial services, with a density of asset managers and wealth firms that rivals cities twice its size. The sector rewards analytical rigour and clear thinking, and a Portfolio Analyst who builds a reputation for sound judgement rarely stays junior for long. Few industries offer this combination of intellectual challenge and a straightforward path to genuinely well-paid, senior roles.
